Master of Social Welfare Conducts RPS Review Based on Outcome-Based Education

The Master of Social Welfare (MKS) Program, Faculty of Da’wah and Communication, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, held a Semester Learning Plan (RPS) Review on October 29–30, 2025, at the FDK Meeting Room, 2nd Floor. The activity aims to ensure that all learning processes at the master’s level are aligned with the Graduate Learning Outcomes (CPL) and fully implement the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) approach.

In his opening remarks, Head of the Master of Social Welfare Program, Muh. Ulil Abshor, Ph.D, emphasized that the RPS review is part of the program’s commitment to strengthening academic governance and ensuring that every course contributes meaningfully to the development of graduates’ academic, professional, and ethical competencies. The event also served as a reflective forum for course lecturers to align academic content with field needs and contemporary social issues such as climate change, migration, green social work, and the care economy.

The activity, chaired by Dr. Asep Jahidin, involved all lecturers of the MKS Program. Participants conducted an in-depth review of RPS structures and content, focusing on the alignment between CPL, CPMK, and Sub-CPMK, as well as developing more measurable and relevant learning assessment guidelines. Through this collaborative academic process, the review encouraged a shared commitment among faculty members to produce RPS documents that are adaptive, integrative, and contextualized to current developments in social welfare studies and Islamic values. By conducting this review, the Master of Social Welfare Program reaffirms its commitment to improving the quality of teaching and learning through an Outcome-Based Education framework. The outcomes of this initiative are expected to strengthen the program’s curriculum, support accreditation performance, and ensure that graduates of the MKS Program at UIN Sunan Kalijaga possess strong competitiveness, professional ethics, and social sensitivity in responding to the challenges of the modern era.
