October 2 Officially Designated as National Social Work Day Master of Social Welfare Program Joins the Celebration

The Government of Indonesia, through the Ministry of Social Affairs in collaboration with the Indonesian Association of Professional Social Workers (IPSPI), has officially designated October 2 as National Social Work Day. This important milestone was reaffirmed in the 2025 National Social Work Day Ceremony with the theme “National Social Work Day 2025: A Turning Point for Accelerating Professionalism”, held online on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM (WIB) via Zoom and live-streamed on IPSPI’s official channel.The main agenda of the event was the reading of the official decree that designates October 2 as National Social Work Day, reaffirming the historical and legal foundation of this national commemoration.

As part of the academic and professional social work community, the Master of Social Welfare Program proudly joins in celebrating the establishment of National Social Work Day. The program views this designation as a significant momentum to strengthen professional identity, highlight the contribution of social workers in national development, and encourage the acceleration of professionalism within the field of social work.

National Social Work Day is not only a commemoration but also a call to further enhance the dedication, competence, and responsibility of social workers in accompanying, empowering, and advocating for community welfare.
