Master’s Program in Social Welfare Reviews Graduate Profiles as a Basis for Curriculum Strengthening
Yogyakarta – The Master’s Program in Social Welfare (MKS), Faculty of Da’wah and Communication, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, participated in a graduate profile review activity as part of curriculum development organized by the Faculty of Da’wah and Communication on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 08:30 a.m. to 02:00 p.m. WIB. The event brought together alumni as discussion partners to provide input based on their professional experiences and the current dynamics of societal needs.
Although the Master’s Program in Social Welfare only began admitting students in 2025, the graduate profile review serves as a strategic step to ensure that the developed curriculum remains relevant to the advancement of knowledge, the demands of the labor market, and the continuously evolving social challenges. Through this activity, the program aims to produce graduates with strong academic and professional competencies, as well as adaptive skills to address social welfare issues at local, national, and global levels. The discussion took place interactively, focusing on the alignment of graduate profiles, graduate learning outcomes (CPL), and the competencies required across various sectors. Input from alumni served as valuable evaluation material to refine the curriculum so that it can better respond to the demands of social work practice, community empowerment, social policy, and increasingly complex research development.
Through this activity, the Master’s Program in Social Welfare reaffirms its commitment to continuous curriculum evaluation and improvement. Collaboration between the faculty, study program, and alumni is expected to produce a curriculum that is adaptive, high-quality, and supportive of graduates who are excellent, innovative, and responsive to the evolving needs of society.
