MKS Strengthens Its Quality Culture through the AMI Field Audit
The Master’s Program in Social Welfare (MKS), Faculty of Dakwah and Communication, UIN Sunan Kalijaga Yogyakarta, conducted a field audit as part of the Internal Quality Audit (AMI) on Thursday, September 24, 2026. The activity took place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. WIB in the Faculty of Dakwah and Communication Meeting Room, bringing together the MKS program management team as the auditee and the internal auditors. The field audit served as an important stage for clarifying and examining in greater depth the review findings and notes identified during the AMI process. During the activity, the auditors and the MKS program management team discussed the review findings directly. The auditors highlighted areas requiring clarification, stronger supporting evidence, or improvement, while the program management team provided explanations regarding the implementation of activities and the supporting documents available. This process was conducted to assess the alignment between the program’s management practices and the established quality standards, while also ensuring that each audit finding was supported by clear and accountable evidence.
Technically, the field audit was conducted by examining each review note individually. For each note, the auditors and auditee discussed the substance of the issue, the available evidence, the conformity of the evidence with the applicable standards, and the aspects that still needed to be completed or improved. When certain information required further clarification, the program management team was given the opportunity to provide explanations and present relevant supporting evidence. Through this mechanism, the audit process was not limited to document verification but also sought to ensure that the documents reflected actual practices at the program level. The results of the field audit discussions subsequently served as the basis for the MKS program management team to follow up on findings requiring corrective action. Follow-up measures may include improving documents, completing supporting evidence, revising work mechanisms or procedures, and strengthening the implementation of activities in accordance with applicable standards. Each finding is expected to be followed up in a measurable manner so that the improvements can be verified in the subsequent stage of the internal quality assurance cycle.
The field audit is an important part of the Master’s Program in Social Welfare’s efforts to continuously strengthen governance and foster a culture of quality. Through direct clarification and discussion between the auditors and the auditee, the program management team gained a clearer understanding of the areas requiring improvement. The audit findings are expected not merely to serve as administrative requirements, but also to provide a foundation for continuous improvement in academic delivery, program management, and the fulfillment of quality standards within the MKS program.
